As dentistry has evolved to include many specialties, patients can now seek and receive more specialized care for certain difficult or complex procedures. We firmly believe that not all dental providers are equal. The outcome of any given procedure is not only related to a provider's knowledge, training, and experience, but also to the provider's ability to execute procedures in such a way that they consistently and predictably have excellent results. Results and chairside manner are two important qualities that define a provider's ability to deliver excellent care, but these characteristics cannot easily be measured by reviews, Google, or any other single patient's experience.

Therefore, it is our policy that we treat patients and perform procedures ONLY when we feel your experience and results would not be better with any other provider; specialist or otherwise.
 

The quality of our care for our patients is always our highest priority. We will refer our patients to another provider, either within our group or outside of our group, when we feel a better result and/or experience can only be accomplished by a dentist other than ourselves.

A referral by our doctors to another dentist is provider, patient, and procedure specific. We want to highlight the fact that we do not refer for a procedure, we refer to a provider. A referral is our recommendation for our patients to have the best possible experience and outcome for a given procedure. While patients are free to choose any provider they want, we remind our patients that our philosophy of results and patient experience supersede all other variables. It has been our experience that patients who heed our recommendations have improved experiences and predictably excellent results.

We feel strongly that any short-term savings are significantly outweighed oy long-term benefits.

It is worth noting that many of our referrals will be to providers who are outside of our office and may be outside of many dental PPO networks. Patients are reminded that they can still use their dental benefits with these dentists, the main difference being in how claims are processed. In the short term, total out-of-pocket costs may be slightly higher.

Neither our dentists' nor our practice benefit in any way from referrals. The American Dental Association forbids referral kickbacks, perks, or any other financial incentive associated with, or tied to, reterrals. Reterrals are given to specific providers, for specific reasons, so that our patients can have the best possible result and experience. We stand behind the dentistry provided by our referrals' just as we stand behind our own.

When a patient decides to see a provider other than one to whom we referred them, we will not take responsibility for the experience or outcome. We have vetted providers who believe in our values, and who understand that our patients deserve only the best. By referring patients to like-minded dentists, we sleep well at night knowing our patients are receiving the best possible care.
